Does anyone know where the text in this image comes from?
I’ve seen it go around on tumblr, and once I Googled the text and couldn’t find anything, and then shorter bits of it and still couldn’t find anything.
It’s totally conceivable that someone just made up these words for the sake of a funny image, but it’s such an odd, specific style of speech that I feel like there must be some story behind it – like the text is a pastiche of something specific even if it’s not a direct quote
4chan seems to mess with this image a lot in general, and I’ve seen a couple different versions in which the text is specifically in this tone. I have no clue where the quotes are actually coming from, though.
- or, maybe I have half a clue, I know that the official German adaptations of old Donald Duck comics are famous for having been re-written with wildly different, “more erudite” dialog. This could just be a joke about that, translated from German?
