Sorry I got so fired up about that guy criticizing Pinker. I guess he really pushed some some of my buttons. It’s not just academia – I guess I feel more broadly that “this person made some technical pratfall, so we get to ignore them about everything” can be used for bad ends in non-academic contexts as well. (Nobody’s perfect, but sometimes we have a responsibility to listen to people anyway.)
