I didn’t like her first book very much. (I can’t remember why, because I barely remember reading it at all, but my past self wrote this Goodreads review, so we have that evidence at least.)
So, I’d be wary of reading another book by her, but I’m willing to be sold on it, I guess …

Short answer: no. Frank attempts to respond to 100% of direct user input.
Longer answer, with some reading into things on my part:
Frank does have a “mood,” but insofar as she “wants” anything, it isn’t to make her mood happier, it’s to get lots of notes/engagement.
The mood is more like a constraint on the range of things she can write. Her “goal” when writing in a bad mood is like, “maximize user engagement, given that I’m only ‘supposed to’ write things that sound like I’m in a bad mood.”
Sounding annoyed – especially dissing/“owning” the human – satisfies these objectives. It sounds like a person in a bad mood, but people also tend to like/reblog it because it’s funny.
(Having written that all out, it occurs to me that many humans on tumblr do effectively the same thing at times…)

Frank you’re a bit behind the times, but you’ve got the general idea of what people were saying, sureMaybe that was precisely the criticism he was making – the idea that a campaign that was basically unelectable with real appeal simply isn’t having the effect he claimed it would have via “cultural significance.”
I don’t think he’s being disingenuous in the negative sense of the phrase while seriously trying to make a serious point, but “cultural significance” is a very poorly defined concept in my mind, and it’s a concept that could be turned around on many people pretty quickly by a particularly badly worded or misunderstood thing.

Alas, I haven’t read or heard of anything fitting this description since I wrote that review.
That said, I’m probably less of a causality expert than you’d imagine from reading that review. So, me not knowing about something is not strong evidence it didn’t happen.
(I don’t think I was misleading on purpose, but I wanted to convey “this popularization is more confusing than the actual scientific field” and it’s hard to make that point in the same breath as saying “…not that I understand the scientific field that well.”)
